The Sounds and Notes Foundation is proud to present one of the most vibrant and beloved traditions of our festival: “Painting Chopin.” As we celebrate the milestone 10th Anniversary of the Chopin IN the City Festival, we returned to the historic Great Hall of the Polish Museum of America to witness the extraordinary intersection of visual arts and live music.
“Painting Chopin” is more than just an event; it is an immersive experience where the timeless genius of Fryderyk Chopin is reimagined through the brushes of local artists and the rhythmic energy of live performance. This year, the atmosphere was electric as dozens of participants—from professional artists to young, aspiring creators—translated the soul-stirring melodies of Chopin onto canvas in real-time.
Guided by the creative vision of the Patricia Stepniak Art Studio, and accompanied by the exceptional musical talents of the Polish Orchestra of Chicago led by Konrad Pawełek, the Great Hall was transformed into a living gallery. The fusion of classical heritage with contemporary creative expression perfectly embodies the mission of our festival: to build bridges between generations, cultures, and artistic disciplines.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Polish Museum of America for hosting this celebration of heritage and to all the artists who shared their passion with us. Together, we continue to prove that Chopin’s legacy is not just a part of history, but a living, breathing inspiration for the future of art in Chicago.
Keep the music playing and the colors flowing!
