Magdalena is a laureate of international piano competitions (Chopin Competition at the Kosciuszko Foundation, Dorothy McKenzie Recognition Award, Prix du piano Ecoles d’Art Américaines Fontainebleau, Grand prix European American Music Alliance Paris), as well as the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Polish Minister of Culture. Baczewska holds Bachelor and Master’s degrees from Mannes College The New School for Music, under the tutelage of Jerome Rose, and her doctoral degree from Manhattan School of Music, in the studio of Constance Keene. Her doctoral dissertation, In Search of Bach’s Cantabile: The Role and Aspects of Oratory and Singing in Keyboard Interpretation was published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing.
An avid educator, Magdalena has given piano master classes in the Central Conservatory (Beijing, China), Grassland International Music Festival (Hohhot, Inner Mongolia); International Keyboard Institute and Festival (NYC); New York Piano Festival (NYC), The New Music School (Chicago, IL), Charleston Southern University (Charleston, SC), among others. She has been invited to conduct piano master classes at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. She is a full-time faculty member of Columbia University and visiting professor at Accademia Europea Villa Bossi in Varese, Italy.
