On Sunday, February 23, 2025, the Polish Museum of America transformed into a vibrant space of creativity and imagination during the “Painting Chopin” Imagination Factory, a remarkable part of the 9th annual Chopin in the City Festival. This one-of-a-kind event invited children to express their artistic talents through a blend of rhythmic exercises and painting sessions, all while being inspired by the timeless melodies of Fryderyk Chopin.
Led by the dedicated organizer Patrycja Stępniak, with the musical guidance of pianist Łukasz Jankowski and the artistic influence of choreographer Katarzyna Wyporska-Wawrzczak, young participants embarked on an unforgettable journey of art and music. As Chopin’s notes filled the room, the children used their brushes to create vivid, imaginative artworks that captured the essence of the music. The parents and spontaneous guests in attendance watched with a mix of wonder and pride as the young artists translated sound into visual expressions of joy.
This magical fusion of music and art was made possible by the vision and passion of Grażyna Auguścik, the originator of the Chopin in the City Festival, whose dedication to sharing Chopin’s legacy has enriched Chicago’s cultural landscape. The event stood as a testament to the power of creativity and the universal language of art, leaving an indelible impression on all who attended. The festival continues until February 28, offering a variety of events that celebrate Chopin’s music in new and innovative ways.
