Bazyli Siwek is a Polish pianist and composer based in New York and Chicago. He currently studies with world renowned Egyptian Pianist Dr. Wael Farouk at the Manhattan School of Music. Bazyli is dedicated to upholding the classical tradition while simultaneously being an avid performer of contemporary classical music.
As a pianist he commands a vast repertoire of composers ranging from Bach to Schoenberg. However, he specializes in music from Polish and French composers such as but not limited to Chopin and Ravel. Bazyli has been praised for his refined and delicate touch, his knack for extremities in mood and dynamics, as well as his ability of storytelling through deep understanding of music theory and form.
As a composer he combines his love of romantic and impressionist styles while adding a contemporary twist. Most of his compositions are either for solo piano or voice, yet he has also composed many pieces ranging from small ensembles to orchestra and even dabbling in electronic music. Through his compositions, Bazyli strives to push the boundaries of emotional complexity in classical music, as well as spreading his Polish roots to a worldwide audience.
Bazyli Siwek has performed all kinds of repertoire across the Chicago and New York metropolitan areas. His works have also been premiered by top level musicians, some even featured on Chicago’s Classical radio station WFMT.
