Kamil Urbański – polish jazz pianist, composer and arranger, Doctor of Musical Arts with
a specialization in music performance, a graduate of The Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music
in Katowice in Poland. He was awarded important prizes, for example Main Prize of The Jazz Pianists Competition in Warsaw (2004) and Grand Prix of Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa Festival (2012). In 2013 for the album “Interplay Jazz Duo” he has honored the prize of “Fryderyk”, which is granted by Polish Phonography Academy.
Kamil Urbański is the laureate of the scholarships granted by the polish Minister of National Education, Rector of The Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music, as well as the Polish Society of Authors and Composers ZAiKS. He is also the beneficiary of The Adam Mickiewicz Institute program "Polish Culture Around the World", over which the government is provided by the Polish Minister of Culture and the National Heritage.
He performed in many countries: Great Britain (Steinway Hall, London), Czech Republic, Georgia, Slovakia, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and others.
Kamil Urbański composed over 70 pieces and recorded 12 albums as a sideman, leader and composer.
